About Christian Thompson

Christian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of San Francisco, an affiliate researcher in Neurology at UCSF Medical Center, and the owner of Thompson Fitness Solutions, LLC.  Christian has published scientific articles on exercise programming for older adults in peer-reviewed journals such as Translational Journal of the ACSM, Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, Journal of Aging and Physical Activity, and Journal of Applied Research.

The Optimal Aging Paradigm

The aging population presents of variety of needs that fitness professionals have the potential to address, but often lack comprehensive solutions in order to do. While many programs discuss the individual importance of training posture, movement efficiency, resistance, balance, and cognitive training, there has yet to be an approach that fully integrates each component into a unified program. This seminar brings together experts in the primary domains of aging, known as the "Age Well Collective", to usher in a new paradigm for comprehensively addressing the physical and cognitive decline associated with the aging process. During this session, you’ll discover how to assess and integrate posture, movement, strength, power, balance, and cognition into your functional training programs in a seamless programming model.
