Cody Sipe, PhD is a professor, researcher, entrepreneur, educator and thought leader with 25 years of experience in the field of healthy aging. He is the co-founder of FAI and serves as Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Research in the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program at Harding University. His global mission is to positively effect the lives of millions of older adults around the world by dispelling the many stereotypes of aging and helping trainers be as effective as possible with their clients.
Dan Ritchie has a broad background in the fitness industry including training and management in commercial, for-profit, not for-profit and educational facilities. Expertise in personal training for special populations: athletes, stroke recovery, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, Fibromyalgia, Alzheimer’s, etc. He has also worked on state funded research on exercise for severe dementia Alzheimer's type. He regularly presents at national and regional conferences and has been active on committees for the American College of Sports Medicine.
Marc Middleton, Founder and CEO of Bolder Broadcasting and Growing Bolder, is a media entrepreneur, television journalist, author, film maker, speaker, activist, and consultant who focuses on the changing culture of aging. A multiple Emmy Award-winning broadcaster, Marc is the host of Growing Bolder TV seen on public broadcasting stations nationwide, co-host of Growing Bolder Radio, executive producer of Surviving & Thriving TV, editor of Growing Bolder Magazine, and director of the Emmy Nominated documentary film, Conquering Kilimanjaro. Marc is a 7-time Masters Swimming world record holder and a 10-time U.S. Masters Swimming national champion. His new book, Growing Bolder, Defy the Cult of Youth, Live with Passion and Purpose will be available in book stores in December.
Evelyn “Evy” Flaharty, a bi-lingual, international business executive and Co-Owner of Aging Evolution. Evy is the embodiment of the company’s motto “Its never too late to be great”. She joined a gym for the first time in her mid fifties after she was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. She credits her diagnoses for saving her life and eventually leading her to pursue a career in the fitness industry. Evy has competed in several figure competitions and is Nationally Qualified. Evy now considers herself to be in the best shape of her life and still competing in her sixties. In addition to running Aging Evolution, Evy is a fitness model and has been featured in various fitness commercials and photo shoots advertising supplements, skincare products and women’s activewear. Evy's message is one of inspiration and motivation for active aging adults everywhere.
As a Baby Boomer with over 30 years of marketing experience on both the client and agency sides of the business, Jeff has witnessed the dramatic changes of the aging population. In his experience of working for and with major brands including Pepsi, Gillette, Dannon, KitchenAid and Unilever, he understands why major brands and corporations are missing the boat on the over 55 crowd and he knows what’s necessary to take advantage of this largest and fastest growing segment in business.
Amy Gorely is a passionate advocate and spokesperson in the pro-aging movement and works to dismantle ageism. Throughout her career in aging services, she recognized that many societal challenges stem from deep rooted age biases which see youth as the gold standard. To empower all to see the value, meaning and significance in every age, Amy launched a national campaign Be Bold, Claim Old. Amy shares an insightful, engaging and motivating message that we can shift how our culture views growing older. She has created a tool kit to foster conversations on aging throughout a wide range of communities and across generations. An experienced yogi who has been guiding students for 20 years, Amy’s teaching is infused with mindfulness. The practice of being fully present in the moment with gratitude supports each of us to Be Bold, Claim Old.
