About Adam Ortman

Adam Ortman is Chief Exercise Science Officer at Activate Brain & Body and heads the development and training of future coaches. He and his partners are are on a mission to re-invent the fitness business as upstream preventive healthcare. Focused on the needs of an aging population, they are creating a company that will radically improve the trajectory of aging and are launching this fall in Cincinnati.

He currently operates an Anytime Fitness franchise in Ohio and along with a group of Anytime Fitness owners and Activate partners, teaches in a Mastermind group where the focus is to grow a profitable personal training program. Adam graduated from Miami University in 2012 with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Health and has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years. In addition to holding 14 nationally accredited exercise and nutrition certifications, Adam is a NASM Master Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and was also awarded the 2013 Anytime Fitness Success Story of the Year and the 2016 Anytime Fitness Personal Trainer of the Year.

Now in the process of exiting both his Anytime Fitness and the Mastermind roles, he is focused on the future of fitness, the Functional Aging Institute vision of helping an aging population, and applying his fitness expertise, his consummate coaching skills, and enthusiasm at building Act!vate Brain & Body into a game-changing company.

About Marie Stoner

Marie Stoner is Chief Science Officer and Co-Founder of Activate Brain & Body where they are on a mission to re-invent the fitness business as upstream preventive healthcare. Focused on the needs of an aging population, they are creating a company that will radically improve the trajectory of aging and are launching this fall in Cincinnati.

She has more than forty years experience as a licensed clinical psychologist with an emphasis on mind/body practices and research into the role of the mind in healing. She’s lectured to academic and patient audiences on healthy aging and brain health, and provided chapters for three textbooks on mind/body techniques, hypnosis, and biofeedback.

At Activate Brain & Body, her role is to ensure that the company, its programs, and its trainers are grounded in the science, following the science, trained in the science, and at the leading edge of developments in brain / body technique and technology.
