About Dan Duran

"Dan is the Vice-President of Content & Partnerships with the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). He has almost 30 years’ experience in training and training management including being a health club owner and the Fitness Director for two large multi-use health clubs where his teams grew revenue exponentially. He is an international presenter and has presented in over 10 countries. Prior to working in the private fitness industry, he worked in law enforcement for 22 years where he ultimately managed statewide training for all law enforcement officers and 200 trainers, including being the director and an instructor at a state police academy and adjunct faculty at several colleges for topics including physical fitness. Dan is an ultra-triathlete, having completed numerous Ironman’s, two Double Ironman’s, a Triple Ironman, and a Quintuple Ironman."

We’ve all heard of good stress and bad stress, right? But what exactly are the good and bad types of stress? Did you know too much good stress or too little bad stress can also create problems with our health and wellbeing? As we emerge from a two-year pandemic, there is no question that many lives were impacted not just by health and economic issues, but by emotional stress as well. Let’s take a deeper dive into daily hacks we can apply to not just live and move better, but do it longer.

Objectives:

1. Learn the four types of STRESS and how they influence your health and wellbeing.

2. Understand that stress comes in many more forms than we realize, and we need to consider all the types in our training and lifestyles.

3. Apply techniques, tactics, and technology to balance stress and ensure our Playspan is as long as our Lifespan.
